INSTALL ON STUD WALLS
We advise attaching ALTO to stud walls, not drywall. Studs provide a strong anchor, ensuring stability and safety for your cat. Drywall alone might not support your cat’s weight, risking falls/damage.
WHAT IS A STUD WALL?
Stud walls are the internal framework of walls, made of vertical wooden ‘studs’. Typically in US homes, they’re 2×4 wood bars spaced 16 inches apart, with the thin side facing the wall’s surface.
HOW DO I FIND A STUD?
Tap Wall: Hollow sound = no stud; solid sound = stud present.
Measure 16″ from corner/outlet/switch, which are near studs.
Stud Finder: Slide across the wall, it will beep or flash over a stud.
HOW DO I INSTALL ALTO?
Once you’ve located the stud, follow the INSTRUCTIONS included and step by step VIDEO GUIDE to install your new ALTO.
Tip: If unsure, consult with a professional before installation. Safety first!
